Our sessions are designed and delivered by the founder of Proactive Spirit, a resilience and capability coach and facilitator, whose approach combines lived experience and professional practice, drawing on both lived experience and professional practice.
The founder holds relevant qualifications (BSocSc, DipComm, Cert IV Leadership, Cert IV TAE, DipCoaching) and delivers sessions in accordance with professional standards, including clear boundaries appropriate to workplace learning environments.
Programmes are educational, research-informed, and preventative in nature, and are grounded in applied frameworks that support resilience, practical capability, and effective decision-making in workplace contexts.
Our services are designed for organisational and public sector environments, with a focus on:
- Psychologically safe and respectful learning environments
- Inclusive and culturally responsive delivery, informed by relevant frameworks and principles, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi where appropriate

- Delivery within clear professional boundaries, with services positioned as non-clinical and complementary to internal HR, EAP, and organisational support systems
Services are delivered using a structured approach to participant safety, wellbeing, and risk management, appropriate to workplace learning environments:
- Adherence to agreed health and safety procedures; escalation in the event of a critical incident
- Clear professional boundaries; facilitators do not provide counselling, therapy, or clinical support
- Respecting personal boundaries; no requirement for personal disclosure and voluntary feedback
- Redirection to internal support systems; where sensitive matters arise (e.g. HR, EAP, leadership)
- Responsibility for ongoing workforce wellbeing and support remains with the organisation, including internal support systems and escalation pathways
Sessions are designed also delivered by the founder of Proactive Spirit and may, over time, also be delivered by trained facilitators.
All facilitators will be trained in delivering our programmes and will be required to meet consistent programme delivery standards, including:
- Professional education and applied frameworks
- Research-informed approaches to resilience, capability, and decision-making
- Applied professional experience within structured, non-clinical workplace settings
- Understanding of duty-of-care, safety, and inclusive practice within workplace environments
This ensures delivery is structured, practical, and aligned with organisational learning objectives and programme standards.
Organisations are responsible for:
- Suitability for the intended audience
- Communicating the educational and professional development nature of sessions to participants
- Maintaining internal wellbeing systems, HR processes, and support pathways
- Providing a safe physical or virtual environment
- Nominating a contact person for coordination and communication
- Notifying participants of internal policies, privacy requirements, or participant considerations relevant to recording prior to delivery
Where agreed, reviewing feedback and supporting integration of learning within their organisational context.
Sessions may be recorded for purposes such as quality assurance, training, risk management, evaluation, internal review, or issue resolution.
Recording will only occur with prior consent from both the organisation and participants.
Participants may decline to be recorded without impact on their participation. Where recording is taking place, alternatives participation options will be provided where practicable.
Recordings are securely stored and deleted after 14 working days.
